How does mould form?

  • Mould is a type of fungus that reproduces primarily through spores.
  • Mould is everywhere, and we may come into contact with it in the air we breathe every day.
  • The main conditions required for mould to grow and reproduce are moisture/humidity and an organic substrate.
  • Inadequate temperature, ventilation or light can promote rapid mould growth.
  • The ideal temperature is 25–30°C; relative humidity >65%.

  • Grows rapidly and is highly allergenic
