2024 World Pest Day Science Popularization Activities and Media Briefing | Rentokil Initial fully supports June 6th World Pest Day!

June 6th is the 8th World Pest Day, and various public welfare activities are being held around the world to enhance awareness and response to campus pest problems.

On the morning of June 6th, a science popularization event and media briefing for World Pest Day 2024 was successfully held in Beijing. The event was hosted by the China Health Pest Control Association, co-organized by Rentokil Initial (China) Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Beijing Chaoyang District Weijian Gongcheng Vocational Skills Training School. The aim was to raise public awareness of pest control on campuses, emphasizing that effective pest control measures can not only reduce the spread of diseases and protect the health of teachers and students, but also help maintain a clean and hygienic campus environment.

As one of the initiators of World Pest Day, global pest control expert Rentokil Initial not only participated in the World Pest Day public welfare theme show, but also conducted online live broadcasts on Douyin and WeChat on June 6th. Furthermore, it assisted industry associations in successfully holding science popularization activities and media briefings in Beijing!

In his address, President Liang Xiaofeng stated that the theme of World Pest Day 2024 is "Campus Health and Pest Control." The risk of dengue fever this year cannot be ignored. Controlling pests, creating healthy campuses, ensuring food safety on campus, and protecting children from pests on campus are our shared goals! He hoped everyone would: First, make good use of World Pest Day as a public service platform to widely conduct health education in primary, secondary, and tertiary schools and kindergartens, truly bringing green and scientific pest control concepts into schools; second, further innovate the forms of popular science activities to make them more appealing and popular among young people, so that health concepts are deeply rooted in people's hearts; and third, fully leverage the association's role as a bridge and link, effectively implement health policies, improve the industry's scientific prevention and control level, and make greater contributions to achieving the grand goal of a healthy China.

Children's Science Q&A Session

Zhao Tongyan, Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Association, Leng Peien, Vice Chairman, and Wei Yi, Technical Director of Rentokil Initial (China), answered children's science questions. At the event, Ms. Wei Yi provided children with information on pest control and answered their questions, helping them develop a correct awareness of pest prevention from a young age, thus better protecting themselves and their families.
