Rentokil Initial joined 2016 Global Food Safety Initiative conference
BERLIN, the February 29 to March 3 2016, the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) was bringing together 1,000 leading food safety specialists in Berlin for the 15th annual Global Food Safety Conference (GFSC). Food safety and industry experts from over 60 countries were working towards one goal: to make a change in the world and advance food safety globally. The conference addressed retail, manufacturing and food service representatives as well as international organizations, governments, academia, and service providers to the global food industry.
This year’s conference spanned hot topics including Big Data, crisis management, the future of food safety, and focused on the continuous efforts to harmonize trade standards worldwide. “The task has grown more complex - reducing food safety risks and managing costs in the supply chain, while developing capacity building efforts and facilitating knowledge exchange and networking,” said Mike Robach, newly appointed chairman of the GFSI board and Vice President of Corporate Food Safety at Cargill Inc., USA.
As one of the largest business services companies in the world，Rentokil Initial was the second time to become one of the key sponsors of the GFSI global conference. Alain Van Lidth De Jeude, Area/Regional Managing Director of Rentokil Initial, gave a professional speech on pest risks on food supply chain and introduce the indefatigable efforts Rentokil Initial made on food safety during the Induction Session.
