About Rentokil Initial
On June 6, 2018, the “World Pest Day” series of events were held around the world. This year, Lisbon of Portugal took over as the main venue. World Pest Day activities were also held in Asia, Oceania, Europe, Americas and Africa, calling for “controlling pests and ensuring food safety” and continuing to encourage the public to pay attention to “Small Pest, Big Problem”. China set Beijing as the domestic main venue, and also set up various venues in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing and other places to carry out various activities.

As the first company to initiate the World Pests Day, Rentokil Initial supported Beijing's main venue and attended the theme propaganda of “2018 World Pest Day” and the opening day of “The National Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control” , which was held by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), the Chinese Pest Control Association(CPCA), the Institute of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of CDC and the National Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control.
The event was successfully held at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Rentokil Initial attended this them activity together with more than 300 people, including experts in food, agriculture and forestry, industry representatives and student representatives.
At the same time, as the only representative of the pest control enterprises on that day, Cassie Tao, Managing Director of mainland China & Taiwan of Rentokil Initial, was invited to give a speech , calling for the idea that “From raw materials to table, all aspects of food safety may face pest risks. Controlling pests and ensuring food safety are the responsibility of every gear in the entire supply chain, and also the responsibility of each practitioner. Among them, Rentokil Initial is also committed to promoting the application of integrated pest control management concepts in all aspects of the supply chain, and to protecting food safety together with various enterprises."
“Controlling pests in the community and working together to keep health”
On the same day, as the preparatory team of Shanghai vector emergency group, Rentokil Initial also participated in the “Vector Control and Protection Work of China International Import Expo and 2018 summer mobilization meeting of the special campaign for patriotic hygiene and mosquito control ”, held by the Shanghai Patriotic Health Campaign Committee, the Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Qingpu District People’s Government of Shanghai.
In the conference, Rentokil Initial was awarded a certification and continued to serve as the preparatory team for Shanghai vector emergency group, aiming to support key mosquito-borne diseases in summer and autumn like dengue fever, and to do a good job in the prevention and control of vector in the China International Import Expo.
After the meeting, Rentokil Initial went to Aibo Village in Minhang District to provide vector control services and professional on-site guidance for the community, thus to help the community grasp the key points of prevention, effectively preventing pests risks and protecting public health.
